Food Street In Hong Kong

Sushi at 7-11 ..???  yes.. only in Hong Kong..!  i haven’t seen any sold in Malaysia.. in Singapore.. or even in the States.  Look at the wonderful selection..! it’s amazing..!! if only they have something like this at our grocery store.. at Sobeys.. instead of the pathetic ones..!!  but the ones we have donch even look anywheres near these.  Sad .. sad..!!!  Sobeys sure suxs.. when it comes to sushi..!

Stinky tofu anyone..???  Found on ladies street.. not easily found these days.  This food is a must to try.. just like durian.. it’s an acquired taste.  But dipped it in some special sweet sauce..and chilli sauce.. it’s awesome..!!

Dim Sum.. is a definitely must try .. when you are in Hong Kong.  But try the ones on the street cafes .. but the ones at Jumbo floating restaurant is so-so.

MRT – Singapore

The MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) in Singapore.. has gotta be one of the most efficient and clean system that i’ve seen in my entire life.   Folks using the MRT for work and for play uses this cheap and reliable transportation everyday. Every 5 mins during peak hours . .and 10 mins during non peak hours.

The MRT is in almost every estate in Singapore. Owned by the government of Singapore and runs all over the island, this rail system was first opened in 1987.   Shuttle services were also planned around the island to bring the people to the MRT station for easy and convenient access.  The Singapore Government has gotta be one of the best ruling party in the world.

The MRT in Singapore is one of the cleanest in the world.  But i cannot say that the seats are the most comfy.  But it does get you from one place to another.. and definitely the cheapest way to get around.

Phi Phi Island, Thailand

Phi Phi Island is very near Phuket and no one who goes to Phuket leaves without visiting Phi Phi Island. In my humble opinion.. i really think it is best to stay in Phuket and not waste your money because whatever Phi Phi Island has.. so does Phuket. But of course the clear waters for snorkeling and diving is said to be much better than in Phuket.. but to each his own eh.

From Phuket you can take a 45mins ride on a ferry . .to Phi Phi Island.. but please note that the water are pretty choppy and if you are going just after breakfast.. don’t eat too much now. A view point sign is put up for your information.

What what does one do.. in Phi Phi Island …??? This place is pretty laid back.. and even though it is touted to be inexpensive.. i don’t really think so. For as long as you are a foreigner.. you get charged US$ . .in everything you spent … well. .not quite all.. but mostly. Diving and snorkeling are the most popular things, tourist/s goes to Phi Phi island for and of course sunbathing and just relaxing. We went only on a day trip.. so i’m not able to comment on accommodation and other stuff.

Hard Rock Cafe, Los Angeles

Well.. no one misses a chance to go to Hard Rock Cafe .. when they are in LA right..?? for me.. it’s important to get there.. because of my collections of teddy bears. Yes.. i collect them everywhere i go.. i have alot of it. Of course, you can expect the same kinda food.. and service in this HRC .. as compared to the ones in Asia.. or even here in Canada. Friendly, fast.. and darn expensive.

Cute… and lovely.. and darn expensive… but i still bought them.

Inside of Hard Rock Cafe.. and yes.. the car. .is to be expected eh. More on food later at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Universal Studio, Los Angeles

At the entrance of Universal Studio… it was a hot summer..! but it was worth it. Lots of people .. and make sure you buy the ticket in advance from your concierge. Its theme is based on the movies that you’ve watched. From the Simpson’s ride to Shrek and ET… everything would look familiar .. to you and your kids.

Of course the first thing I looked for .. would have been the shopping and where better to shop than the Universal Studio Store at Universal Studio.. muahhaha!!! ok.. ok.. corny i know.. can’t helped it eh.

Look at how many people there were..!! all lining up to get in… it was an amazing experienced .. not like Disney .. but equally good.  More to come in my next entry.

Flea Market, Sydney Australia

I stayed in Sydney for a good 5 months.. sometime in the late 1999 .. and i was very fond of the flea markets in Australia.  The weekends were wonderful.. and something i looked forward to.. and being a hotelier.. you know we can never be too, too far away from the places where there are great food.  The Kirribilli Market is one of those markets that happens every 4th saturday of the month.  There are some awesome stuff there.. from homemade handicrafts of bags, clothings .. accessories.. by very talented people.  They also have of course your home made cakes and sweets.. plus you can find all sorts of goodies here.  I found some treasures here .. in my 5 months in Australia.

Handmade earrings.

Hand made slingbags and purses/coin purses.

Food, food and more food.  In fact .. i learned all about organic food in Sydney.  Thank you, Sydney..!!  you helped me learned alot about healthy living.

KIRRIBILLI MARKET – Bradfield Park North, near Milsons Point Station, Open 7am to 3:30pm PH 02 9922 4428

Wall Street Bull

I’m pretty sure. .. just about anyone knows about the Wall street bull at New York City. This massive bull is an icon for the traders on Wall street. I hear that tourists would rub its nose for luck therefore, the bronze color on its nose seems alot lighter. Nobody misses a picture with the bull when they are visiting New York.

The Tram – San Francisco

The tram is one of the things everyone has got to do.. when they are in San Francisco. It’s cheap.. and it’s fun.. and with only $1.50 .. you get to reach Fisherman’s Wharf.  I like that i even tried hanging outside of the tram.. like most people did.  It was fun..!

Blog Emergency Hiatus

Sorry, I wasn’t updating alot.. i was admitted to the hospital .. for an emergency operation. Will come back soon.

Malaysia Airlines

Selamat Datang .. ! is in malay.. and its means.. WELCOME…! and no… when you take a flight wtih Malaysia Airline.. they speak in English. I loved their business class.. and although the planes are alot older.. the asian hospitality is something we all appreciated .. for a long time.

One of the 5 airlines to receive a 5 star rating from Skytrax, it has a somewhat high quality of service. The abbreviation “MAS” for Malaysia Airlines Systems means Gold in Malay. Seemingly supposed to means you fly with gold class..?? Operating out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, with hubs at Kota Kinabalu, Penang and Kuching, Malaysia Airlines flies to 100 cities across 6 continents. In flight food is just like any airlines that i’ve been on.. but Malay Cuisine was served even for breakfast.  Is it any cheaper to fly MAS …?? Nah..! i don’t think so.
